Ultimate Blog Party 2014

Welcome to the PARTY Ultimate Blog Party attendees!

Image My name is Kristine and I am the one behind Creativity in the Moment. This is a fairly new blog for me. You can catch my family blog over at http://reednewsletter.blogspot.com/ . I am a mom of two adorable little ladies who take up most of my time, but with the time I get I try to be creative with my moments. I love to sew, craft, create music and cook. In this blog I hope to share things that I make as well as tutorials and recipes. Eventually I hope to sell my creations in my Etsy shop, so you’re going to want to get in on this ground floor adventure! My Etsy shop only has one item in it, but you can heart it at CreativityNTheMoment to keep following me! I have a Pinterest page where I’ve pinned lots of things related to cooking and sewing. You can check it out at: http://www.pinterest.com/live4adventure/   Many of the projects I will complete in Creativity In The Moment were inspired by Pinterest posts. Follow me on there too and you’ll be able to see where the inspiration for my projects come from. As you can see in the picture above, I have two cute little girls. This means I get to make cute little clothes and girly things when I get time. Here are a few things that are next on my list: Check out my Sew Interesting Pinterest Board HERE: T shirt into ruffled dress. It would be so cute to pair this with unmatched coordinating handmade stretch pants. http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2010/11/re-purposing-long-sleeved-tee-into.html http://www.rufflesandstuff.com/2010/04/murpheys-layered-skirt.html And finally for the baby: kojotutorial: a pieced jersey matched set (the dress to match the pants) -- could be made with a t-shirt that is stained on the lower half or two short. http://kojo-designs.com/2011/02/kojotutorial-a-pieced-jersey-matched-set-the-dress-to-match-the-pants/   Typically when I do sewing tutorials, I grab from a variety of sources or do my own spin on the tutorial. So “follow” me on here to be able to see the results of my spin on these fabulous tutorials. Easter is coming up as well, and I plan on making a few things for around the house and for my kids. Here are some things I am planning on creating in my moments: Easter Story in an Egg - Resurrection Eggs from TheFrugalGirls.com http://thefrugalgirls.com/2010/03/the-easter-story-craft-in-an-egg.html I love to share with my girls why we as a family celebrate Easter. Now that my oldest is 3, it’s finally time to bust this out and help the Easter story be tangible for her.   http://godcenteredmom.com/2012/04/02/making-easter-personal-for-preschoolers/ I love the idea of making Easter more personal for the kids. In this tutorial the kids gather rocks and write the bad things they’ve done on the rocks. Then they put the rocks in their baskets. On Easter the mom moves the rocks to a basket that has Jesus’ name on it and then in their own baskets they get blessings as a result of Jesus taking their rocks. I love this idea! It’s a great idea for the Easter Holiday if you celebrate it religiously. If not, then there are many fun tutorials online for Easter Baskets! Cutest Easter Basket! :) 10 Fun and Creative Homemade Easter Basket Ideas http://www.womenio.com/2753/10-fun-and-creative-homemade-easter-basket-ideas  This one has 10 fun and creative basket ideas. I love it! http://jennyfreestyle.blogspot.com/2013/02/50-toddler-easter-basket-ideas.html This one has a list of ideas of what to put IN the basket. I am all for getting away from TONS of sugar that our kids (and we) don’t need. Plus kids get more enjoyment out of DVD’s and sidewalk chalk than candy that is gone in a second and cheap toys that break immediately. Yep, we all know those toys that look cool but then BAM they are broken and the kid is crying. Let’s have a broken toy/super sugar high free Easter. 🙂   Another thing to know about me is that I am on the road to fitness! I’ve been overweight for over 20 years it seems, but healthy otherwise. Another reason why loading an Easter basket full of sugar isn’t an awesome idea. I’ve decided that this is the year to start my fitness goals. So you may see posts about 90/10 nutrition http://www.9010nutrition.com/ and recipes related to that. Here’s a few recipes I’ve pinned to my 90/10 board: Chicken Gumbo - only 30 minutes. Thursday's dinner on the menu here. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/55450639137043900/ Half an Hour Chicken Gumbo Sweet_Potato_Pizza_Crust! www.tribasetraining.com/nutrition http://carrotsncake.com/2013/01/sweet-potato-pizza-crust.html This fascinates me, let’s hope it tastes as good as it looks! I would simply substitute the panko bread crumbs with whole wheat, and the pasta with whole wheat pasta. http://www.365daysofcrockpot.com/2013/06/recipe-for-slow-cooker-turkey-quinoa.html?m=1 Slow Cooker recipes are some of my favorites. Who has time to spend all their free moments cooking? Not this lady!   I hope that you follow my page and join with me on this journey of being creative in the moments we are given! Thanks for stopping by! Please remember to follow me on Pinterest and check out my Etsy shop when you get the chance! -Kristine

Another Blog

So yes…I have endeavored to start yet another blog. Every blog I create is for a specific purpose. This blog I feel marries my creative side with my mother side and will share moments with my kids, moments of creative expression and likely some random moments. I hope you enjoy sharing the moments with me. 🙂
